A Little Wedding Wisdom from the Planners Who’ve Seen It All
Dear Brides,
A little wedding wisdom from the planners who’ve seen it all 💌
Adorn Montana

1. “Hire professionals you trust, and then please let them do their jobs. Choose vendors whose work you love, communicate your vision clearly, and then give them room to be good at what you hired them to do.”
2. “Skip the wedding favors. Please. We typically pack up and return about 75% of them at the end of the night. If you REALLY WANT them, order for about 25% of your guest list. I promise that 100% of your guests do not want a koozie with your name on it.”

1. Once the wedding weekend starts, just be present
“We have spent months and months planning every detail together, getting to know one another, and building a vendor team that we trust. Once the weekend is finally here, you get to hand it over to us. Trust the team we have put together, trust all of the decisions we have made along the way, and give yourself permission to just be present. Your only job now is to soak it all in and enjoy the people you love. We will take care of everything else.”
2. Once we get to the wedding day, we are on YOUR timeline
“We spend months building an incredibly detailed timeline so your entire vendor team knows exactly where they need to be and when. But once the wedding day arrives, I never want you watching the clock or feeling rushed from one moment to the next. If you need five more minutes, we take five more minutes. If you are having the best conversation with your grandma, I am not going to interrupt it because the timeline says it is time to cut the cake. The timeline is there to keep us on track. It is not there to run your wedding day. That is my job. Your job is to actually enjoy it.”

1. Trust the team you’ve chosen.
“One of my biggest pieces of advice is to surround yourself with vendors you genuinely trust. Hopefully, that begins with a planner whose vision, guidance, and recommendations you feel completely confident in. From there, you’re able to build a creative team that not only understands what you’re envisioning, but knows how to thoughtfully bring it to life.”
2. Don’t lose sight of what you’re celebrating.
“Slow down. Step away from Instagram every once in a while. Your wedding doesn’t need to look like anyone else’s to be incredibly beautiful. Let it feel like you, and allow yourself to really enjoy the months leading up to it.”

1. “When something doesn’t go the way you thought it would, and it’s completely out of your control (weather, family drama, forgotten item, etc.) if you let that bring you down and become your focus, that’s what you will remember. Instead, if something like this comes up – just remember how many of your favorite people have shown up for you because they LOVE you and how excited you are to marry your best friend. That’s really all that matters, and if you keep that at your focus, you will look back fondly on memories of this day rather than wishing you hadn’t let that freak storm ruin your day!”
2. “Don’t be afraid to be unique, but also don’t feel like you have to! You love what you love – embrace it, whether it’s totally off the wall or super basic and trendy. If you love it, do it!”

1. Choose your people
“Vet your vendors. Don’t just book a vendor because their work looks beautiful. Do your research, ask the questions, read the reviews, and make sure you genuinely like and trust the people you’re hiring. These are the people you’re trusting with one of the most important days of your life, so finding vendors who align with your vision, values, and personality matters just as much as their portfolio.”
2. Make it YOURS
“Your wedding shouldn’t feel like a copy and paste of someone else’s. From the design and timeline to the tiniest details, look for ways to weave your story, personalities, and things you love into the day. At the end of it all, your guests should walk away feeling like they experienced YOUR wedding, not just a beautiful wedding.”
